The cryoload® metering skid offers a precise and consistent measurement for custody/non custody transfer, in accordance with API (American Petroleum Institute) or MID (Measuring Instrument Directive). It can be equipped with a straight Vapor Return or a BOG metering system.
cryoload® complies with all applicable European Directives, such as Machinery 2006/42/EC, PED 2014/68/EU, ATEX 2014/34/EU. It is designed and tested according to all applicable standards, such as ISO 16904, EN1474, OCIMF

How does cryoload® work?
Filling cryogenic liquids into a Road Tanker, an ISO Container or a Rail Tanker is a hazardous and labor-intensive process. The risk of getting it wrong can have severe consequences with high costs and a bad advertising that could devaluate customer brand.
The field of cryogenic applications is quite different compared to that of products that work at ambient temperature. Loading sequences are more complicated and take longer. The equipment must be slowly cooled down prior to the loading sequence and the other way around after the loading sequence.
Working at temperatures down to -196 °C requires due care. A safe working environment is essential and protection for working personnel needs to be implemented, for example by adding thermal insulation on the accessible parts.
While standard swivel joints for different applications are lubricated with grease, the cryogenic swivel joints are grease-free and are to be constantly purged and dried during loading.
What's cryoload® made of?
cryoload® by Zipfluid is a turnkey solution composed by:
- LNG and BOG lines both equipped with automatic flow control valve, mass flow meter and process sensors (temperature, pressure, etc.)
- N2 Line for purging purpose, equipped with automatic control valve and process sensors
- Air Line complete with automatic control valve and process sensors
- LNG and BOG Loading Arms optimized for both lateral and rear loading, spring balanced and equipped with breakaway valves for emergency disconnection in case of accidental departure of the tank truck
- Insulation and Cladding to prevent the formation of ice on the surfaces and minimize heat ingress
- Control Panel with HMI to manage all the loading phases, safety features, self-diagnosis, DCS communications and badge reader control. The HMI is specifically designed to be user friendly and guide the operator during the loading activities
- Earthing Monitor with resistive/capacitive technology, SIL-2 certified
- Leakage Detection System that allows to have a continuous check before/during and after the loading
- Steel frame hosting all the skid components, optimized to have a minimum footprint, easy to be handled and maintained
